Yet those who need education the most – children living in poverty – are the least likely to attend and complete school.
With about 3 million out-of-school children in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ABP&AW aims to help the government by providing free quality education to children in poverty-ridden areas of the Province. We aim to prepare these children to become responsible citizens of society.
Some of these children are orphans who find it difficult to receive good healthcare, clothes, and education from their guardians. Fathers of most of these children are jobless, daily wagers, or drug addicts.
Almost all the teaching staff comprise women and girls who act as strong role models for the children so that they may play a key role in making the future of Pakistan bright one day.
The network is working in Peshawar and will be extended to other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Multan, Larkana, and Karachi branches of ABP&AW has also opened Ujala schools in their communities, serving children from low socio-economic backgrounds.
ABPAW generates funds through donations from friends and the community and receives funding from donor agencies.
